A. The Kiwi Access Card is Hospitality New Zealand’s new look evidence of age card. It is an approved evidence of age document under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act and can be used in all the same ways that an 18+ Card can be used.
A. We have redesigned the card so that it can better address the requirements of everyone in the community that needs a form of secure identification to give them access to goods and services.
A. Yes, your 18+ Card is valid for 10 years from the date that is issued.
A. Anyone 18 years or older, or turning 18 within one month.
A. Anytime ON, AFTER or ONE MONTH PRIOR TO your 18th birthday.
A. Any NZ Post outlet in New Zealand. For a listing of your closest outlet please go to www.nzpost.co.nz . Forms are available at other locations throughout the country (i.e. bottle stores, tertiary providers, bars, etc), you will, however, need to take your completed application form to a NZ Post outlet to get it checked and processed.
A. $55* (as at 14 January 2019)
A. Yes. You will need one form of approved photo ID either:
- Passport (NZ or overseas)
- NZ Photo Driver Licence
- Firearms Licence
- 18+ Card
- Kiwi Access Card
- Certificate of identity
- Refugee travel document
All forms of ID need to be current or expired within the last two years prior to applying. If you do not have one of these, you can still apply – you need someone who can prove you are over 18 and some other form of identification, like your birth certificate. Check step 5.1 of the application form for a list of what other form of identification is acceptable.
A. Approximately two weeks. There is no way to fast-track this process. If you've been waiting for longer than this, please contact us on 04 381 9937, between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
A. Yes, however, you will need to provide proof of address as you did with your original application. This can be faxed to 04 384 8044, or emailed to email@example.com. It is recommended that you also arrange a re-direction on your mail with NZ Post.
A. You will need to apply for a replacement card by completing another Kiwi Access Card application form in full, including supplying a photo. The replacement card will cost you a further $55 and will take the standard processing time of approximately two weeks. If you’ve been waiting for longer than this, please contact us on 04 381 9937, between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday. If your card has been stolen, we advise you to report this at your local Police station.
A. Anyone who:
- Has known you for over a year
- Isn’t a relative or spouse
- Is 20 years of age or older
- Can state you are over the age of 18
- Doesn’t live at the same address as you
- Has a current Passport, NZ Driver Licence, 18+ Card, or Kiwi Access Card
A. 10 years from date of issue.
A. Complete the application form as normal, but you will also need to provide the document showing the name change, for instance your marriage certificate.
